Longitudinal Finned Tube Overview
Longitudinal Finned Tubes are expertly crafted using resistance welding techniques to attach fins along the length of the tube. Initially, the fin strip is shaped into a U-channel, forming two fins from each side of the U. These channels are precision-cut to the correct length, positioned along the tube, and resistance welded in place. They are welded in pairs, directly opposite each other, so the number of fins is always a multiple of four.
Advantages of Longitudinal Finned Tubes:
- Enhanced Durability: Offers a longer lifespan compared to standard helical fin tubes.
- Safety and Energy Efficiency: Provides a safer and more energy-efficient heat transfer solution.
- Improved Heat Transfer: Ideal for increasing heat transfer rates in viscous liquids.
- Perforated Options: Includes perforated fin designs for efficient drainage when handling liquids.
- Versatile Applications: Extensively used in horizontal heat exchangers.
