On the afternoon of December 12, the banquet hall on the second floor of the Shanghai Guangda International Hotel was brilliantly lit and filled with honored guests. At 3 PM, amidst the flashing cameras and spotlights, Liu Zhenghao, the director of the Membership Department of the association's secretariat, received the "Cooperation and Win-Win Award" from the leaders of the Shanghai Federation of Industrial Economy. This award recognized the association's efforts in helping its members go abroad and expand their overseas markets. The crystal trophy, sparkling like silver stars, symbolizes the sincerity and dedication of the secretariat staff in serving and achieving for its members, reflecting society's acknowledgment of the association's services.
The award ceremony was jointly hosted by the Shanghai Federation of Industrial Economy, the Shanghai Modern Service Industry Federation, and the Shanghai Public Diplomacy Association, as part of the "Broad Ocean and Sky" Shanghai brand "Going Global" initiative, and the 17th and 18th Shanghai Sail Economic and Cultural Exchange Projects in 2024. The event aims to honor outstanding industry associations and small and medium-sized enterprises in overseas exchanges, promoting the international development of Shanghai brands. Several awards were established at the ceremony. In addition to the association receiving the "Cooperation and Win-Win Award," Shanghai Fanhua Fastening Systems Co., Ltd. won the "Most Popular Award," and Chao Tan Materials (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. received the "Market Potential Award."
Representatives witnessed this important moment, including Vice President Chen Junde representing Zhao Bo, Vice President Zhang Yi representing Chen Jian, Fan Chui Jie, General Manager of Shanghai Muhong, Kong Lingqi, General Manager of Shanghai Jiuli, Zhu Xi, Director of Shanghai Wu Jin Network, Secretary-General Wei Liqun, and Director of the Marketing Department Wang Youguo. The "Shanghai Sail" Economic and Cultural Exchange Project is an initiative by the Shanghai Federation of Industrial Economy, the Shanghai Modern Service Industry Federation, and the Shanghai Public Diplomacy Association, aiming to comprehensively showcase "Shanghai Manufacturing," "Shanghai Brands," and "Shanghai Services." Since its launch in 2012, the event has successfully held 18 sessions in over ten countries, including Central and Eastern Europe and ASEAN, making positive contributions to the dissemination of Chinese culture and the establishment of Sino-foreign friendships.
The 17th and 18th Shanghai Sail Economic and Cultural Exchange Project took place successfully from September 15 to 23, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Nearly 130 small and medium-sized enterprises participated, featuring many well-known Chinese brands and trademarks, achieving an intended transaction amount of 18 million US dollars, fully illustrating the market potential and international influence of Shanghai brands.
This event attracted representatives from the consulates, trade associations, and various industry associations from Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, and South Korea, showcasing Shanghai's positive achievements in promoting international cooperation. Representatives from government departments, including Shanghai CPPCC, Commerce Commission, Economic and Information Commission, and Market Supervision Bureau, were also present. With the gradual recovery of the global economy, the path of internationalization for Shanghai brands is becoming increasingly broad. The 19th and 20th Shanghai Sail Economic and Cultural Exchange Projects will continue in Osaka, Japan, and Seoul, South Korea, assisting more Shanghai enterprises in going abroad to tell the stories of China and Shanghai. The association's secretariat will actively strive for more participation opportunities for member units in the 19th and 20th Shanghai Sail Economic and Cultural Exchange Projects in 2025, working hard to help member enterprises expand their foreign trade markets.
