The Association Successfully Held the Steel Pipe Industry Supply and Demand Exchange Conference
The "Steel Pipe Industry Supply and Demand Exchange Conference," co-hosted by the Shanghai Steel Pipe Industry Association, the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce Steel Trade Association, and Shanghai Shenshi Exhibition, was grandly opened on the morning of December 19, 2024, at the N3 Hall of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Industry elites from around the globe, including international buyers from India, Germany, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, South Korea, and nearly 200 representatives from leading domestic enterprises such as Sinopec, China National Petroleum Corporation, China Railway Materials, Sany Heavy Industry, China Metallurgical Group, Hangxiao Steel Structure, Honglu Steel Structure, Shiluide, and Haitai Steel Pipe attended the conference. Participating companies spanned various fields, including steel plates, steel pipes, hot-rolled products, profiles, fasteners, coatings, and pumps and valves.
Attendees included Association President Shen Genrong, Party Branch Secretary Gong Hongliang, Vice Presidents Gu Xiang, Du Mingli, and Cheng Tiandong, Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce Steel Trade Association Vice President Huang Ping, Secretary-General Ni Shumin, Secretary-General of the Tuanfeng County Steel Structure Industry Association Feng Weizhen, and Secretary-General of the Shanghai Pump, Valve, and Compressor Industry Association Gu Bai'an. The meeting was hosted by Lu Zhi Kui, Deputy Secretary-General of the Steel Pipe Industry Association.
In his speech, President Shen Genrong pointed out that the first "Steel Pipe Industry Supply and Demand Exchange Conference" organized by the Association aims to actively respond to the central economic work conference's call for "stability in progress, promoting stability through progress, and establishing first before breaking." This model allows both supply and demand sides to lock in most resources, benefiting production organization for manufacturers and the comprehensive balance of manpower, material resources, and financial resources for end-users. The Association will take this opportunity to continuously improve organizational methods, enhance matching formats, raise communication quality, and enrich supply and demand information, working together to create a shared grand event for the steel pipe industry’s supply and demand. It provides practical cooperation opportunities and development platforms for all stakeholders in the steel pipe industry. Vice President Gu Xiang, Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce Steel Trade Association Vice President Huang Ping, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Pump, Valve, and Compressor Industry Association Gu Bai'an, and Feng Weizhen, Secretary-General of the Wuhan Gangting County Steel Structure Industry Association, offered guiding suggestions for further promoting the supply and demand exchange work of the steel pipe industry and wished the conference a great success.
The conference featured two segments: the release of purchaser information and free negotiations between supply and demand parties. This not only allowed both sides to obtain market information about products and understand changes and trends in market demand but also provided a beneficial bridge for future corporate development and production positioning, optimizing future purchasing strategies, deepening cooperation, and resource sharing. Conference representatives expressed that through this exchange meeting, they gained clearer strategic direction, strengthened their confidence in the future development of the industry, and planned to increase investment in innovation and technological advancement.
